Structures of the Sky

In this painting, I’m exploring the Structures of the Sky – how different emotions are shaped by the events that have occurred in our lives. Abstract paintings are all about the use of color and shape to create a visual representation of emotion. And, like everything else in the world, emotions are controlled by tectonic forces.

In particular, I’m focusing on the emotions of sadness and joy. Sadness is portrayed as a heavy object, weighed down by the memories of past hurt and regret. Joy, on the other hand, is represented as a light and bouncy object, buoyed up by the hope and optimism of future possibilities. Together, these two emotions are struggling to keep their balance n the tectonics of feelings. But, in the end, they will always find a way to overcome adversity.

“Structures of the Sky” shows respect for emotion and form, trying to reach their greatness and majesty, precisely to tune and harmonize them with all the tendencies of the spirit and the soul in the tectonics of feelings.

Paying attention to art, to painting, is a complicated action, which surely changes our lives. When you paint, you have to stay with your head in the clouds, but still with your feet on the ground. At the same time, you sensitize your observation and perfect your craft. Nothing looks like before, the colors are the first in your way, and the shape remains a constant search. The joy of painting is fed by the wealth of feelings that accompany our association with art. From here on, everything is just search, wonder, joy.
