_Submerged History

Description

In Submerged History, the artist presents a captivating dialogue between warmth and depth, utilizing a palette of Turquoise, Cerulean Blue, and Burnt Sienna. The composition is anchored by a rugged, horizontal band of earth-toned texture that appears to “bleed” into the vibrant blue depths below through deliberate vertical dragging.

The title Submerged History reflects the painting’s complex surface, where heavy scumbling along the edges and layers of sienna suggest artifacts or landscapes being reclaimed by the sea. By juxtaposing the weathered, rustic heat of the upper register with the fluid, saturated movement of the lower half, the work evokes a sense of time passing and the beautiful, transformative power of erosion.
